Apple Walnut Oatmeal

Serves: 2 servings
- 1 T. butter, melted
- 1 c. old-fashioned oats
- 1¾ c. milk
- ⅓ c chopped walnuts
- 1 c. chopped Granny Smith apple
- ½ t. cinnamon
- 3 T. dark brown sugar
- Melt butter in microwave safe dish.
- Stir in the oatmeal.
- Toast in a toaster oven or on the stove in a small skillet until it acquires a toasty nutty aroma.Stir frequently.
- Core and dice thinly sliced apples.
- Add milk and other ingredients to the dish.
- MIcrowave for 2 minutes. Stir.
- Microwave an additional 2 minutes. It should appear thicker at this point.
- Cool slightly and serve.
