Apple Walnut Oatmeal

Ingredients
  • 1 T. butter, melted
  • 1 c. old-fashioned oats
  • 1¾ c. milk
  • ⅓ c chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. chopped Granny Smith apple
  • ½ t. cinnamon
  • 3 T. dark brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in microwave safe dish.
  2. Stir in the oatmeal.
  3. Toast in a toaster oven or on the stove in a small skillet until it acquires a toasty nutty aroma.Stir frequently.
  4. Core and dice thinly sliced apples.
  5. Add milk and other ingredients to the dish.
  6. MIcrowave for 2 minutes. Stir.
  7. Microwave an additional 2 minutes. It should appear thicker at this point.
  8. Cool slightly and serve.
